•This software is the English version. There is also a Japanese version(If you are a japanese people and live in JAPAN, please download "STARFIGHT-FINAL(J)" from my web site).
This is an arcade style side scrolling shooting game. Control your spaceship and defeat the appearing enemies! Your spaceship will increase it's power by capturing certain items. There are a total of 5 stages, whereby at the end of each one of them, the "Boss" will appear.
1. Before Starting The Game
•This game runs under the following conditions:
(1) 68(LC)040 or PowerPC machines
(2) MacOS 7.5.3 or newer version
(3) At least 3MB of free memory
•Do not move files from the "SF-FINAL folder", which is created once the archive is expanded.
•Set your Macintosh's Monitor to the 256 color mode.
•The game will start by double clicking "STARFIGHT-FINAL(E)", located within the folder.
2. When First Used
•Choose, "Use Original" from the "Display" menu. Only when your display does not function properly, please choose, "Use QuickDraw".
In the case you needed to select the later, it would be generous of you emailing me information about what machine type and graphics board you are currently using.
•When using machines which have poor display performance, such as 68(LC)040 machines or Powerbooks, choose "1/30 fps" from the "speed" menu. Although the displayed results will become rougher, the game will run at a further acceptable level.
•In the case you are running no other applications besides this game, choose "Allow BackTask" from the "Speed" menu and set it to an "unchecked" status. The game will be able to use the CPU power solely and as a result, the game will run smoothly.
(!) The above set status will be saved and applied automatically when the game is restarted.
3. Starting The Game
•Title will appear when the game is started. Push the Z key when the sentence, "PUSH Z KEY TO START" is displayed. The game will start.
(!) When the Z key is not activated, a game demonstration, as well as the highest scores yet achieved by you will be displayed.
4. Controling Your Spaceship
•Your spaceship can be mobilized will any of the key sets below.
•Press the shift key to use the beam weapon. When the shift key is kept pressed, the beam will shoot repeatedly.
•When you wish to pause the game, push the option key. To deactivate the pause, push the option key again.
5. Powering Up
•Your spaceship can be powered up by taking the items that appear during the stage.
•There are items such as, "Option", which substitues your attacks, as well as, "Front Arm", which positions it'self in front of the spaceship and protects it from enemy fire.
6. About The Menu
•File-Reset.................Resets the game. Has the same function as the
reset button of game machines.
•File-Quit..................Quits the game(close box of the window has the
same function).
•Display-Use QuickDraw....Use of MacOS's drawing routine. Although speed
will decrease,the game's operation will be
guaranteed. Only use when the game does not
function in it's original mode.
•Display-Use Original.....Use of the game's original draw routine.
The game will run with high speed.
•Display-Size Change......When using displays larger than 15inches, you
can toggle the window size by two times (by
clicking the window you will obtain the same
effect).
•Display-Skip Evenline....When displaying at the double mode, the line
will be omitted. The game will run at high
speed (When running game with "Use QuickDraw",
there will be no effect)
•Speed-(60/10 fps).........Selection of displaying timing. Usually select
1/60 fps, but when using slow machines adjust
for the slowdown in performance caused by
redrawing.
•Speed-Allow BackTask.....Selection of whether background tasks will be
allowed or not. When checked, background tasks
will be allowed. When it is not necessary for
background tasks, keep the check off. The game
speed will become further ideal and movement
will become smoother.
(!) Background Tasks is identified as the
Finder functions, network functions of
applications, print outs and screen savers,
and all other operations except the M2GE game.
•Sound-BGM..................ON/OFF of BGM
•Sound-SE...................ON/OFF of SE (sound effects)
•Sound-Volume..............Setting of volume
•Option-Register...........Input of keycode for shareware registration.
7. About Hidden Commands
•There are various hidden commands in this game. They are set for those who think the game is too difficult, and other reasons.
8. About Shareware
•This game is shareware and without registration, one can only play the first stage. In order to be able to play all the stages, please register your software. For registration details please read the "SFF.register" document.
•There are even more characterful enemies after the first stage. Challenge them on the other stages!
•The registration fees will be used for my daily needs and development costs for the next game. I am thinking to release my next game as shareware as well. So, if you liked STAR FIGHT-FINAL, and would be looking forward to my next game, please cooperate by registering your shareware.

•Among the incorporated music into STAR FIGHT-FINAL, the boss music/ ending music uses purchasable freely usable music from a CD.
•This software, as well as the included archives are not guaranteed, and the author of this software and archives is not responsible for any damage that may have been occured using this software and archives.
